Background: Retained by senior management to determine how best to commercialize a domestic and European information technology and services subsidiary, maximize the value of the commercial opportunity, and position the entity for strategic transaction. The company was in the business of developing, maintaining, and selling accounting and payment processing software packages used in the domestic mortgage servicing industry and the European leasing industry. Related services were also provided. The subsidiary was operating as a cost center for the parent with the goal of becoming a revenue / profit center that would reduce overall parent expenses and contribute to the parent's bottom line. Subsidiary revenues were in the low eight figures.
